Golden Visas

Long-term UAE residency, clearly explained.

Who may be eligible

Eligibility depends on your category.

The Golden Visa is a long-term UAE residency option. The requirements differ depending on whether you apply as a skilled professional, investor or through another recognised category.

Skilled professionals

Current UAE employment, professional classification, qualification, salary documentation and any profession-specific licence are considered together.

Investors

The investment type, certified value, ownership documentation, funding position and current holding structure determine which investor category should be reviewed.

Other categories

Entrepreneurs, scientists, exceptional talent, students, graduates and humanitarian categories may need a specialist review and, in some cases, a nomination.

Final decisions remain with the relevant UAE authority. Current requirements and interpretations can change.

Ember Consultancy

How we help.

01

Eligibility review

We look at the category that may apply, the authority involved and anything that could affect timing or the next step.

02

Documentation plan

We set out the required documents, attestations and sequence before submission so avoidable gaps are dealt with early.

03

Managed delivery

Coordinate the agreed process, status updates and authority responses through completion, while keeping responsibility clear at every stage.

Documentation

Prepare the right documentation.

The exact documents depend on the category and the current authority requirements.

Identity and residency

Current identity, UAE residency, immigration history and family-status records relevant to your application.

Category documentation

Employment, salary, investment, ownership, qualification or nomination documents that support your selected category and its current requirements.

Authentication

Any recognition, attestation, legalisation or translation needed before a foreign-issued qualification or civil record can be used in the UAE.

Case factors

What affects applications.

  • The authority and emirate handling the application, including any nomination or jurisdiction-specific step that must happen before residency can be issued
  • How salary, investment, ownership or tax contributions are documented, certified and connected to the applicant
  • Whether qualifications, recognition, attestations, professional licences or category recommendations are current and accepted for the intended application

Before we begin

What to prepare.

  • A clear summary of your current UAE status, the outcome you want and any application or nomination that has already been started
  • The category you believe may apply, together with the employment, investment or other fact that supports that view
  • Any known gaps in employment, salary, investment, qualification, licence or nomination documentation that could need attention before submission

Questions

Before you begin.

Can Ember Consultancy confirm that I qualify?

Ember Consultancy can review the category that may apply, compare your documentation with current published requirements and identify issues that need attention. Final nomination and residency decisions remain with the relevant UAE authority.

What should I prepare first?

Begin with a concise summary of your current UAE status, the category you believe may apply and any documents already available. Ember Consultancy will then set out the documentation that is relevant, including recognition, attestation or authority letters where required.

How long can an application take?

Timing depends on the category, document readiness, nomination steps and the authority handling the case. After the category and documentation are understood, Ember Consultancy will provide a realistic working sequence and explain which parts remain outside its control.

Is salary the only skilled-professional requirement?

No. Current GDRFA Dubai guidance also refers to valid UAE employment, professional classification, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, qualification recognition and a professional licence where required. The authority reviews the records together and may ask for further documentation.

Can mortgaged property support an investor application?

Current GDRFA Dubai guidance allows mortgaged property to be considered, subject to the certified property value, ownership share and Land Department documentation. The ownership and finance structure should be reviewed before any conclusion is drawn.

What if my category is not covered by the online check?

The check gives detailed orientation only for selected skilled-professional and investor factors. Entrepreneurs, exceptional talents, scientists, students and other recognised categories need a category-specific review, often including nomination or recommendation documentation.
